The Engineer will contribute to improving a range of fabrication processes that can directly impact the sustaining and growth efforts of operations. This position will be focused on design and deployment of digital motion systems-this includes, but is not limited to: robot programming, working with outside vendors for turnkey systems, and deployment/maintenance of data collection and monitoring equipment. The Engineer will participate in both the introduction of new products and technology as well as amelioration of existing processes.Job Core Responsibilities* Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, programming, assembly, tooling, and materials* Develops manufacturing processes and designs by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and implementing manufacturing methods and equipment.* Optimization of process and consulting with process engineers on a 'design for manufacturability' approach* Understands and minimize both technical process variability and human process variability* Participates in Design and NC Programming and maintaining revision control for processes and designs* Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.* Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.* Coordinates with outside vendors on development and design of turn-key automated systems.* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
